Week One (Clark U)

So It's about one thirty in the morning and I'm writing yet again from my dorm room at Clark. Today (after I go to bed and wake up again), we will be going to Six Flags for our last day of orientation, which so far has been pretty awesome. Today a hypnotist came to campus and put on a hilarious show. If you ever need ideas for entertainment, seriously consider hiring one of these guys because this was impressive.
I will have my last round of chemo in Rochester because I wouldn't be able to go to class if I stayed here anyway. I will leave Clark sometime this week and return in October if there are no setbacks, but you all know me, so who knows how long I'll be away.
Anyway, I should get to sleep so I have energy for tomorrow's excursion.
Much love,
Marika!

Marika-

We are all thinking positive. This round of chemo will be boringly, normal--no setbacks, no drama, just good 'ole meds zooming through the blood stream.

Going back to Strong will be like going home for you--lots of familiar faces. Glad you got to meet your new college buddies. The mystery of the unknown usually carries a bit of anxiety with it and now, that is one piece of luggage you can leave in Worchester!

Let us know when you are back at Clark and your new address. We will have a college care package on its way to you.

hugs & kisses,
cousin brig

I'm so glad you were able to start the year with your class.Sounds like great kooky fun AND late nights!
Now it's time to get back to the leukemia and remind it that you're not getting distracted and you're going to kick it's butt! It's amazing that you are able to move so fluidly between school and the hospital.I'm impressed with your maturity. From the fun of college to the healing of yourself....You are becoming master of some challenging life lessons .Being fully present wherever life takes you. How awesome and inspiring you are!
